About Prem Arya

Prem Arya is a global yoga teacher based in Rishikesh, India. Born in a traditional Indian family, Prem has simplicity in his blood. He was first introduced to yoga in his school. After completing his graduation in arts, he got the opportunity to work in various fields. But he was not able to find satisfaction in his work. This raised a question in his mind- what is the purpose of his existence? It tempted him to find the answers about his existence. He left his home and went to the divine land of Haridwar, Patanjali Yogpeeth Ashram. In Patanjali, he studied the divine language Sanskrit as a part of Vedic education. That was the turning point in his life, from where he started his journey in the field of yoga. His yogic journey completely changed the way he used to live. It also inspired him to learn the advance and new techniques of yoga, such as aerial yoga, acro yoga, etc. With the passage of time, practising yoga, he gradually developed an interest in meditation. Due to this special interest in meditation, he not only expanded his yoga teachings to mental & physical level, but also to the spiritual level. Prem has mastered the yoga canon -from Patanjali’s Yoga Sutras to Panini Ashtadyayi and Bhagvad Gita to Shlokas verses- both in Sanskrit and English and it is one of his greatest passions to transfer his knowledge to those who want to learn authentic yoga practice and its ancient roots. Every year, through his yoga foundation Anaahat Yog as well as several other schools across the country, he leads teacher training for students from all over the world. His main goal is to help people acquire a deeper level of physical and mental awareness along their journey of creating a healthy lifestyle. Over the last 10 years, he completed over 1000 hours of training himself and his field of expertise ranges from Hatha yoga to Acro and Anti-gravity yoga, Pranayama to Yoga Philosophy. However, Prem is unique in that he has spent his years learning from his Gurus all over the country and living a life dedicated to the path of Yoga. Accordingly, Prem’s teaching not only focuses on asanas and their mastery but also provides the students with a deep understanding of yoga philosophy, pranayama, yogic living and thinking. Aside from his endeavour to spread love and peace through yoga, Prem is also the founder of UJJWAL SANSTHANAM (A charitable foundation working for the education of disadvantaged kids).
